About: Dr. Carlo C DiClemente

Dr. DiClemente is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and co-developer of the Transtheoretical Model (“Stages of Change”). He directs UMBC programs including MDQuit, the Center for Community Collaboration, and the Home Visitor Training Certificate Program. His books include Addiction and Change, The Transtheoretical Model, and the self-help classic Changing for Good. Honors include the John P. McGovern Award (ASAM), a Presidential Citation (APA), and ABCT’s Addictive Behaviors SIG Lifetime Achievement Award. At Carrara, Dr. DiClemente trains our clinical team quarterly to strengthen stage-matched, motivational care across programs.
