So now that you’ve completed Carrara, you understand how important self-care is. You know, now that self-care turns into self-esteem which graduates to self love, and nobody tries to kill themselves with drugs and alcohol, who truly loves themselves.

Being that I’ve lived in LA for my entire 58 years, I wanted to give you on your way out some of the things that have made my life easier and more full.

Again, I don’t care if you use any of these things or none at all… I’m not getting anything from this. I’m just sharing because if I like it… most people will. These are just my opinions based on my life experience.

Quintessentially
It’s like having a personal concierge and personal assistant… There’s almost nothing you can’t get or can’t have handled for you… It is the ultimate luxury.
The Hoffman Process
This was one of the best experiences of my life. It’s a weeklong residential retreat designed to help people identify and break negative patterns. It combines elements of psychotherapy, mindfulness, and somatic work to foster deep, emotional healing and self-awareness. You must be sober to attend. This is NOT a replacement for treatment, but excellent afterwards.

Last thing… Sobriety is not its own gift no matter what you hear from others. Here’s the truth… If you don’t replace the life that you held most valuable when using drugs and alcohol with something of equal or greater value, you cannot stay sober.

Please take time to enjoy yourself. Go to the movies. Go through your phone and find a few friends that you’ve lost contact with that you miss and go to lunch. Repair your relationships or make them better… and that starts with your children because that’s all we leave behind and our jobs is to make certain that they’re OK in the world when we are gone.

You are part of the Carrara family now but like anything else if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it. So wake up in the morning and move your body, get quiet and meditate first thing in the morning. Eat right. Get enough sleep. Get your eyes and your teeth checked and a physical every year… That alone is evidence that you love yourself. See a therapist three times a week in your first 3 to 4 months after leaving Carrara and then you can move it down twice a week after that if you’re comfortable… I still do twice a week and I’m 22 years sober. You can’t go to 40 hours a week of treatment and then not have a therapist three times a week that makes zero sense.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting us help you get through this.

And please call when you need support… And don’t hide the good news. I live for the good news.
