Reiki at Carrara is a calm, hands-on energy practice that supports balance and relaxation during recovery. A trained practitioner places hands lightly on or just above the body to encourage a steady flow of energy, helping the nervous system settle, easing tension, and creating a feeling of quiet ease. Many clients use Reiki to arrive to therapy calmer and more present.
Sessions are private and consent based. You remain fully clothed, can choose light touch or no touch, and may pause or stop at any time. Practitioners coordinate with your clinical team so Reiki fits your goals for stress relief, sleep support, and emotional steadiness without adding complexity to your day.
Reiki is not a medical treatment. It is a gentle complement to counseling, skills practice, fitness, and rest that can make daily care feel smoother.
Reiki can support clinical care by lowering stress, easing discomfort, and improving body awareness. Sessions are gentle, private, and predictable, which helps you stay engaged with therapy, sleep routines, and daily skills practice. Many clients report calmer mood, clearer focus, and steadier motivation that carries across the week without adding complexity.
Slow hand placements and quiet breathing tell the body it is safe to relax. As the nervous system settles, muscles soften, heart rate steadies, and busy thoughts start to fade. This calm baseline helps you arrive to therapy more present, tolerate strong feelings with less strain, and wind down at night, which supports more consistent and restorative sleep.
Reiki creates a steady, nonverbal space where feelings can surface at a manageable pace. You can notice emotions, breathe, and let them move without pressure to explain every detail. This gentle release often reduces tension and shame, making it easier to discuss insights with your therapist and to choose healthier responses when triggers appear.
Light touch or hands just above the body can help ease neck, shoulder, and back tightness, as well as general aches that distract from care. By encouraging a rest-and-digest state, Reiki may reduce headache frequency and settle stress-related discomfort. Sessions are coordinated with hydration and rest so relief lasts into groups and evening routines.
When the body relaxes, mental noise often quiets too. Clients describe clearer attention, easier recall of coping skills, and less rumination after sessions. With fewer intrusive thoughts, planning feels simpler and follow through improves. This clarity supports productive CBT work, smoother conversations in family sessions, and better decision making day to day.
Reiki aims to balance, not overstimulate. Many clients feel grounded yet refreshed, with steadier energy across the day. That balanced state makes it easier to pace activities, protect boundaries, and avoid boom-and-bust cycles. The result is more consistent participation in therapy, movement, and self care without the crash that can follow stress.
As a gentle, noninvasive practice, Reiki pairs well with counseling, medications, fitness, and nutrition. Your practitioner aligns timing and focus with clinical goals so sessions prepare you for deeper work rather than compete with it. Because the approach is simple and low effort, it offers reliable support on both high energy and low energy days.
