Patricia Freebery, MA, LMFT, is a psychotherapist with a 20+ year private practice in Los Angeles, specializing in emotion-focused somatic therapy as well as the transcendental and biological implications of core trauma and addictions. Her work focuses on recovery from the biopsychosocial symptoms of disconnect from spirit in our modern world, and draws from global indigenous spiritual practices, meditation, as well as the modern fields of neurobiology and attachment theory to create practical tools for mindfulness and reconnection with one’s authentic self.
She has served in various executive capacities as Clinical Director, Advisor and Consultant in several luxury Malibu addiction recovery treatment centers such as Cliffside Malibu and Sol Sanctuary where she has developed model treatment programs blending western allopathic treatment modalities with global indigenous practices, and has consulted for various holistic residential drug and alcohol treatment program start ups, as well as psychedelic integration programs. She has also has advised in psychological Risk Management for Symbiquity, a Silicon Valley tech startup utilizing AI and conversational game theory for conflict resolution.
Presently, she serves as the Executive Clinical Director at Carrara Treatment Wellness Spa in Malibu and West Hollywood, California. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and also trained in psychedelic psychotherapy at the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)/California Institute for Integral Studies (CIIS), as well as Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy and Inter-Analytic Couples Therapy at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. She is a member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).
